Rest Days Are Part of the Plan

It's easy to think that more is always better. But the work you do in class is only half the story. The other half happens when you rest.

Why rest matters

When you train, you challenge your muscles. When you rest, your body has time to recover and adapt, and that's when you get stronger.

Skipping rest can leave you feeling tired, sore and less focused in class. Building it in helps you show up feeling your best.

Signs you might need a rest day

  • You're feeling more tired than usual
  • Your muscles are still sore from your last class
  • Your form feels harder to hold
  • You're just not feeling it

Any of these is a good reason to take a day off, or choose something gentler.

Active recovery

Rest doesn't have to mean doing nothing. A walk, a gentle stretch or a Yoga class can help you feel looser and more relaxed while your body recovers.

Sleep, water and good food

The basics matter. Getting enough sleep, staying hydrated and eating well all help your body recover and give you the energy to enjoy your next class.

Rest without guilt

Taking a rest day isn't falling behind. It's part of training well. Come back refreshed, and you'll feel the difference.
